Bahiyah started her first business importing textiles from Tanzania to the United States in 1998. She has since worked largely as a consultant, advisor and mentor engaging public-private sector stakeholders and building partnerships to drive social and economic impact. She has partnered and worked with organizations including UNICEF, the Rockefeller Foundation, the U.S. Department of State and the U.N. Foundation. Bahiyah's passion lies in empowering investors, entrepreneurs and organizations to drive economic and social impact through technology, media, and the arts, inclusive of the African Diaspora. She served as Executive Director of one of the first startup accelerators in East Africa in 2012. Bahiyah has produced events in Brazil, Uganda, Nigeria and Kenya, been a featured speaker on trends in entrepreneurship and innovation at engagements around the world and is the Founder of Young Art Collector.
